Calvin's Prayer tonight for FHE

Was so cute and went something like this....

"Dear Heavenly Father,

Please bless the poor and afflicted. Please bless us to be strong and healthy. Please bless us to sleep good. Please bless that we can have a good day tomorrow and that we can be on time for school and that Dad can have a good day at work and Mom can have fun. Please bless the orphans to have a bed and some toys and some parents. Please bless us to be like hot water.

We're so thankful for a fun day and for a great great family home evening tonight. We're thankful to not be orphans and thankful to have Mommy & Daddy and our families. We're thankful for our friends and that we could play. We are very thankful for our very beautiful house. And and.....pause....in the name of Jesus Christ Amen. "

Our lesson was on Not procrastinating....and the object lesson was a bowl of really hot water & cold water with three drops each of food coloring. The hot water food coloring spread quickly and looked so pretty in the glass bowl. The cold water didn't spread nearly as fast and mostly sat at the bottom of the bowl in a clump. The point...if we do things quickly and with a good attitude we will be like hot water...if we have a bad attitude and put things off as well as complain about it it becomes a bigger & harder task that takes us even longer to complete thus we are slow like cold water.

He was quick to say that he was like cold water when it came to doing his homework tonight because he didn't want to do it and wanted to go play, plus it took him a very long time. However, he is like hot water when he helps clean the house & cleans his room and that makes him feel good.

He also read a scripture tonight....Alma 34:32 I think or 32:34 but it was super cute and he read almost every word by himself and guessed proficy for a word that was really prepare. Not bad for a kindergartner! We were very proud and he was proud too and wanted to read more.

Calvin is always eager to please and already at age 6 had a great love for Heavenly Father & Jesus and in doing what is right.

He is a wonderful little boy and I just love him to pieces! xoxoxox
Love,
Mom
